Out of Control (And FabHER Friday Link-up)

Last week I had the opportunity to paint a portrait, and the only picture that I have of it is this one:

How frustrating and pathetic.
Normally I make it a point to keep a digital copy of the original, just in case something unexpected happens in the mail/delivery or down the road.  I've just found that it's better to keep records of this kind of thing.  But last week I was just not on my game.  Stress of work picking up in the Christmas rush, school responsibilities, friendship chaos and general busy-ness kept me on my toes and I am still spinning.

While this week is also very busy, I am making a point to keep my cool and not forget to schedule time to just "be".  So many things are unavoidable, but that doesn't mean that I need to say "yes" to everything that comes my way, or that I can't set some time aside to recharge.

It's also a comfort to know that I don't have to be in control all of the time.  There's a Greater One at work here, and I'm so glad that I don't have to be perfect, or say the right things or have my hair all in place.  He saved me in all of my mess.

Here's to being out of control and totally "okay" with it (or at least learning to be okay with it, hah :) )
